The United Show Tippler Club was
founded in 1891 as the 'United Tippler Club' and is one of the oldest of the
pigeon breed clubs in existance. It has a long and chequered history, and
hopefully this new era will see a resurgence in the breed and the
club.
|
The Show Tippler is an old British
breed which has changed little in appearance since its early days. In the
early 1900's it was a very popular breed with fierce competion at the shows,
100 years later it has slipped into obscurity and is very rarely seen.
|
The aim of The United Show Tippler
Club and this website is to publicise the Show Tippler, create an archive of
information, encourage new breeders, and ensure the continued existance of
the breed.

The Show Tippler has a complex
genetic make-up and has, for far too long, been regarded as a 'difficult'
breed. There seems to be a mystique about the breed and sadly far too often
the genetics of the breed has been misunderstood. The Show Tippler is not a
'difficult' breed, but, like all breeds breeding a good one is never going
to be easy!!
|
The stock of Show Tipplers is now
extremely limited and descends from the birds of the late Ken Shaw. The
majority of Show Tipplers elsewhere in the World are markedly different to the
British stock and we need to ensure that the breed survives in its purest
form.

If you keep the breed, have
any photographs, articles, or information about the breed, or are interested
in the breed, we really would like to hear from you!
